Welcome

earthIn the realm of a changing world, we need to be continually learning and adapting to change. The advent of computers, the Internet and modern technology has revolutionized the way we think, act, and live. Culture is evolving. The way that people have lived for millenia are ways of the past. Whether we like it or not, we must learn to thrive in these new circumstances or we will find ourselves struggling for survival.

We live in an era where we have more opportunity for personal, economic, and spiritual growth than ever before. The Internet is a great enabler for self-education as well as communication, and therefore also can unlock one's greatest potentials and dreams. The key is to accept the challenge to grow and take advantage of the opportunities before us, to be open minded to new information and ways of thinking and acting. A core part of this challenge lies within our ability to grasp technology and leverage it for our benefit.

But there are greater challenges on the path ahead of us. The earth is changing. Population growth is exploding. Resources are diminishing. Personal and national debt, as well as taxes, are ever increasing. The inevitability of war seems certain. The gap between the rich and the poor ever widens. As an individual these issues concern us, but few of us believe we are realistically able to positively influence the larger systemic problems because we are too occupied with our own personal welfare, given our limited time and resources.

Our situation compels us to exercise our creative imagination so that our personal goals - within our personal relationships, families, and careers - support the health of our community, our nation, and planet.

A New Consciousness

TeamworkA new way of thinking is developing. This new paradigm is based on the realization that we live in a world in which its parts are interconnected and interdependent upon each other. With increased levels of communication and transportation the world has gotten smaller. What I do affects you. What you do affects me. We are realizing that we are organically interconnected with the people and life around us, and that our way of living today is not sustainable.

This new conciousness is the result of logical consequence. Historically we have seen that dogma resists against reason. The fact of the matter is that the most critical problems that threaten our livelyhood and physical survival are global in nature, and being such, requires a framework of understanding that can be universally compatible and applicable. We find that the ideology of greed, power and exploitation - of exploiting others, of exploiting the earth - ultimately leads to self destruction.

In this period of transition the ultimate challenge and largest gains will be realized in the way we think. It is said that history repeats itself. Although the names, nations, religious beliefs, political parties and ideologies change, we have seen a consistent pattern throughout history of a minority dominating over a majority. What has been seen as a struggle for power and wealth is actually a struggle over beliefs. Everything flows from the beliefs of a culture, not only tangible things such as our political and economic structure, educational and media systems, but intangible things such as happiness, loving relationships, meaningful purpose, and beauty.

I see a new consciousness developing - the consciousness of synergy. The paradigm of synergy involves a merging of our capacity for self-awareness and self-determination with the realization that the greatest happiness for the long term lies in our ability to understand and employ our interdependence as an asset that leads to unlimited creativity and value.
